I know in my life I am often looking to be appreciated and it has become very obvious to me in my Love & Gratitude Project how important it is to appreciate myself and not to seek the appreciation from others.    Of course it is always wonderful when someone acknowledges you but it is also wonderful when you begin to give that appreciation and acknowledgement to yourself, particularly when you are feeling a little challenged.

So now I make a daily list of what I appreciate about myself, and then I make a list of what I appreciate in others.  By sending myself a ‘thank you’ note I am connecting with a deep part of myself that has felt unappreciated, and letting that part of me know that I am no longer dependent on others to make me feel okay.   I will also continue to thank and acknowledge others by making a call, sending an email or a hand written card, a gift.  There is so much to appreciate in my life.

The more I come home to myself the more loving and grateful I am becoming.
