It is the first day of February and today I am starting my ‘Living in Love and Gratitude’ project. For the next three months I am going to focus on living a life filled with love and gratitude. I’ll be sharing my ideas, experiences and results on this blog.
My intention is to be mindful each day to live from my heart and to practice love and gratitude for myself and others. For a long time I have been keeping a gratitude journal and I have noticed some wonderful changes in my life. It has brought my attention to the many blessings in my life and it has also brought my attention to be more loving toward myself and others.
Today as I was waiting in a long line at the supermarket, I brought my attention to my heart, breathing in love and gratitude and breathing out love and gratitude. Within a few breaths I felt relaxed and at peace and I was really enjoying the experience of ‘waiting’. As I was standing there following my breath, a cashier opened up her counter right in front of me and the woman behind me started to move her trolley towards the counter, then she stopped, turned to me, smiled and allowed me to go first. I smiled and said ‘thank you’. Then after I had emptied my basket of goodies, she mentioned that I had forgotten an onion. I smiled and said ‘thank you’. Wow, it was such a wonderful example of living from your heart. I walked home grateful for so many things and with a huge smile on my face.
Yesterday a friend and I went on a day outing to Woy Woy and Ettalong on the Central Coast and it was so much fun. We were totally in the moment, laughing and smiling. We had time to sit quietly and watch the tiny waves lapping on the shore, we had time to sit in a cafe and enjoy some uplifting conversation and delicious food. We were so appreciative of the natural surroundings and the fresh air. Throughout the day we lived in love and gratitude and it was a beautiful, relaxing, joy-filled experience.
Join me on my ‘Living in Love and Gratitude’ project, and share your experiences, as you live from your heart and appreciate this wonderful life and wonderful world.
